We're proud to announce the third year of IMUF's Mentorship Program starts in October!

Hi !

We're very excited to tell you about the third year of IMUF's mentorship program. Our goal year to year is to group current Hoosiermama?s with alumni in order to help support their growth and development in ultimate, life, and future careers.

The program has grown year over year, and we're so grateful for the support. In this upcoming year, we'll continue with large group discussions in the following areas, Business, Tech, Science, and Liberal Arts. We will try and encourage more 1:1 focus with students this year to foster more trust and action.

Based on the interest from students, we need some mentors in the following groups too: Social work/therapist, Exercise Science, Computer Science. If you or an alumni you know is in these fields, please encourage them to participate!

Each semester, we’ll host two group sessions (30–45 minutes) bringing together students and alumni for guided discussion. Immediately after, each mentee will have a 30–45 minute one-on-one session with their assigned mentor to dive deeper into the topics just covered.

While our topics for this year are still being finalized, here are examples of focus sessions from last year:

Orientation: Getting to know you, Topic gathering
School focus: How to succeed at IU in your major, School related anxieties, etc.
Special Personal Finance Event with Charlie Lowe ‘14-17 and Taylor Kraemer ‘04-09
Career: Jobs, Internships, Resumes, Interviewing
Adulting: Post-school success, Anxieties, Failures and learning from mistakes, etc.
