Welcome Ryan Opal, Sam Resnick, and David Woods! |
|
Earlier this year, two of IMUF’s most dedicated leaders stepped down from their roles on our Board of Directors: Ed Wu and Nathan “Iggy” Igdaloff. Throughout their time on the board, Ed and Nathan brought thoughtful leadership, consistency, and a genuine investment in the organization’s success. They didn’t just fulfill their responsibilities—they took initiative, supported their teammates, and played a key role in shaping decisions that strengthened the direction of the organization. We’re incredibly thankful for the time, energy, and care they gave to the organization, and their impact will continue to be felt as we build on the strong foundation they helped create. Ed and Nathan, once again—THANK YOU!
Although it’s hard to see them step away, moments like this remind us how fortunate we are to have leaders who give so much of themselves. In that spirit, we are excited to announce three new board members have joined our team: Ryan Opal, Sam Resnick, and David Woods! Ryan, Sam, and David maintain a strong belief in our organization's core mission and bring unique skills that will push us forward in the coming years. Read below to learn more about our newest members! |

What do you do for work + what do you do for fun? Where do you live?
I currently live in Bloomington, Indiana. Home of your national champion Hoosiers. I work for a digital marketing agency called Brainlabs Digital as a Client Director for a number of businesses helping manage their digital portfolio. For fun I like to take my dog for long hikes or frisbee fetch sessions. I also still love to play all sports involving discs. Lately, that has been a large pivot to disc golf and competing around Southern Indiana while I fix my foot before trying to return to ultimate.
How has being on the board been so far?
Being on the board has been a blast so far. The new guard hit the ground running, jumping into committees and figuring out how we could help support both immediately and more so in the long run.
Why did you join IMUF? What do you hope to contribute over the next couple of years?
I joined IMUF to support and be a part of this process. This program has gained so much momentum, so quickly, since it started only a number of years ago. I want to help steward the board's vision to make ultimate an expenseless privilege for our future Mamas and maybe even Daddys to come. All while getting to hang and collaborate with past Alumni of various generations. |

What do you do for work + what do you do for fun? Where do you live?
For work, I am a Senior Finance Consultant at Ernst & Young within our Finance Strategy and Transformation Practice. For fun, I like to play golf, pick up frisbee / club, try new restaurants and travel. I live in Chicago, specifically River North.
How has being on the board been so far?
So far, being on the IMUF board has been fantastic. It is incredible to see so many people, from different generations and backgrounds, taking time to give back to a program that gave them so much. Additionally, it has been really impressive to see what has been accomplished to date.
Why did you join IMUF? What do you hope to contribute over the next couple of years?
I joined IMUF mainly for a couple of reasons - first, I wanted to maintain my connection to the team, both current and past. Second, it is a great opportunity to give back and help develop players both on and off the field. Over the next couple of years, I hope to contribute in a positive manner that builds upon the successes of the Board to date - specifically in the Finance and Life/Career Development space. |

What do you do for work + what do you do for fun? Where do you live?
After graduation, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue filmmaking. I help run a production company called OKay Productions with friends from IU, where I write, direct, edit, and produce film projects. I’ve also had the chance to freelance as an editor for Mike Tollin Productions, the company behind “The Last Dance.” To pay the bills, I work at Cine Visuals handling digital marketing and content.
How has being on the board been so far?
The board has been great so far. I feel welcomed and my favorite part has been seeing how much everyone cares about the program.
Why did you join IMUF? What do you hope to contribute over the next couple of years?
It’s difficult to leave something that’s given you so much. My hope is to give back in a meaningful way. |
